The Naturalistic New Build Garden

The Naturalistic New Build Garden, a new build garden plot redesigned to harness the view featuring planting to echo the landscape beyond, a sundeck and paving interplanted with thyme. Designed by April House – Award Winning Cotswolds Garden Design

Designing a new build garden

Garden design features: natural planting, stream, Limestone seating area, Millboard Oak sun terrace, and views towards the Batsford Ridge

A brand new home with beautiful views to the rear and a small front entrance garden.

The design brief here included harnessing the views from key vantage points in the garden; a lower seating area to capture the best sun and views across the meadow and ridge and an extended terrace with plenty of room to sit, dine and grow salad vegetables, herbs and flowers. Our aim was to connect with the natural space outside of the garden by echoing its structural planting features inside the garden. A matrix of different meadow grasses nod to the meadow beyond, while multi stem trees pick out the shapes of trees and shrubs on the horizon. The front garden was redesigned to create extra room for parking and a small gravel garden for heat loving and drought tolerant plants in this little sun trap.
